Shiatsu

 What is Shiatsu?
Shiatsu is a very effective form of Japanese massage, which is based on the holistic system of traditional Chinese medicine. Finger, hand, elbow and knee pressure as well as assisted-stretching techniques to the whole body are used in order to stimulate and redistribute energy.  The treatment is done through clothing, and takes about 1 hour. I treat people of all ages, from school children (4 years up) to adults (no age limit).
Shiatsu –  why?
It  is very comforting and creates a wonderful feeling of wholeness - an excellent way  to maintain health!  The relaxing and soothing manner in which the therapist  works, restores your internal balance.
Therefore, Shiatsu is  very effective in relieving stress-related symptoms such as insomnia, headaches and migraines, back , neck and shoulder tension, and stomach and digestive problems.
People  experiencing  any difficult life situations such as grief, depression or any other kind of crisis will find Shiatsu very supportive because of the high presence and awareness  the therapist puts into his/her work.
Shiatsu –  what to consider?
Tell the therapist about your health and why you have come for treatment
Wear comfortable clothing (T-shirt, jogging pants, and perhaps socks)
Drink plenty of water or herbal tea after the treatment
Allow yourself a rest after the treatment
Discuss a treatment plan with the therapist
